If you saw #ARMYHiveStreamingParty trending yesterday and were beyond confused, you weren’t alone. Turns out two of the most powerful fandoms, BTS’ Army and Beyonce’s Beyhive teamed up to dominate the charts and streaming sites.
These loyal fanbases teamed up to stream binge their faves newest hit songs and albums. The main focus was Beyonce’s song with Jay-Z “Apes**t” and BTS’s new single “Fake Love.” Both songs are from the artist’s newest albums, Everything Is Love and Love Yourself: Tear respectively.
The streaming takeover started on June 20 and started at 11 A.M. EST and is going into today.

Cycle One #EVERYTHINGisFAKELOVE STARTS NOW!
Let's get to streaming:
• Apple Music: https://t.co/gFUAjeJmZo
• Spotify: https://t.co/NuX0WSB2Uv
• TIDAL: https://t.co/OaxrU5VO17

The streaming party has a few other hashtags as well. #ARMYHiveProject and #EVERYTHINGisFAKELOVE were both used as well. The fandoms collaboration worked. For a few hours, multiple hashtags were trending in the U.S. and worldwide.

On top of streaming the fandoms were encouraged to watch the music videos as well. Their efforts brought the “Apes**t” music video to 1 million likes. It’s the end of the chart week so they’re pushing streaming numbers HEAVY right now in hopes of crushing the other artists who have new music out. It’s unknown how this streaming collaboration came to fruition, but it’s genius.

They’re even teaming up and calling into radio stations and requesting the singles to be played over the airwaves.

The streaming party didn’t just help the numbers, but each fandom gained fans. Maybe ARMY and Beyhive members tweeted that they love the genuine support and seeing non-fans enjoy the music they love.
Obviously, Beyonce is a bigger deal than BTS, but the K-pop boyband is getting there. In November 2017 they became the first K-pop group to perform at the American Music Awards, which thrust them into mainstream American culture.
This past April they won the Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist. Their newest album Love Yourself: Tear debuted at number one in the U.S. Billboard 200 making them the first K-pop album to achieve that goal.
ARMY and the Beyhive’s streaming binge is most likely going to set a precedent for future fandoms to keep their favorite’s music in the charts.
