The performers for the MTV Video Music Awards are starting to be announced and the show is going to be star-studded. Every year the show pulls out all the stops and has every hot new artist perform and this year is no different.
Right now Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and Logic with Ryan Tedder are all slated to perform during the award show.
The show will be a few days after Grande drops her fourth studio album Sweetener. The singer is slated to perform her latest single “God Is a Woman” for the first time ever. The last time Grande performs at the VMAs was in 2016. She and Nicki Minaj performed “Side to Side” and it was nothing short of iconic.

Maybe this year we will get another joint performance. Yes, Grande is supposed to perform “God Is a Woman” but Nicki teased that something big is coming from both artists and that fans will be “VERY happy” followed with the tea emoji.
I love this woman. Can’t wait for the fans to benefit from all the hard work on both ends. We love your passion. You guys will be VERY happy. Trust. That’s all I’ll say 😉🍵🦄 https://t.co/dWE95pfYi2

Do you think the two will be performing “The Light Is Coming” or “Bed” during the VMAs?
Besides the performance, Grande is nominated for Video of the Year and Best Pop song for “No Tears Left to Cry” and Artist of the Year.
Mendes is also taking the stage to perform “In My Blood” from his self-titled album that came out earlier this year. He performed “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” during last year’s VMAs and the fans legit lost it, so expect the same. Mendes is nominated for three VMAs. Best Pop song, Best Direction and Best Cinematography for a music video all for “In My Blood.”
Logic will be performing with OneRepublic’s frontman Ryan Tedder. The two will be singing Logic’s brand new single “One Day.” Last year Logic performed his hit single “1-800-273-8255” with Khalid and the performance was emotional. He’s nominated for two VMAs, Best Collaboration and Video With a Message, both for “1-800.”
Grande, Mendes, Logic and Tedder aren’t the only ones performing. Jennifer Lopez is receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and will also be performing during the show.
You won’t want to miss any of these artists take the stage. The MTV VMAs will air August 20 at 9:00 P.M. EST.
