Millie Bobby Brown is not here for people criticizing her friendship with Drake, 31. The 14-year-old was asked about the rapper while at the Emmy’s.
While talking to Access she said that she loves the rapper and that they’re “great friends” “We just texted each other the other day and he’s like ‘I miss you so much!’ and I’m like ‘I miss you more!” the Stranger Things star said.
Then the red carpet reporter asked her if Drake gives her any advice and what sort of advice. That’s when Brown said that Drake helps her with boys and gives her dating advice.
This clip came out days after rumors began that Drake was dating an 18-year-old model Bella B Harris. Naturally, people began to criticize the friendship between the 31-year-old rapper and the 14-year-old actress.
People have accused Drake of predatory behavior and “grooming” Brown. According to Out Of The Fog, child grooming is a “predatory act of maneuvering another individual into a position that makes them more isolated, dependent, likely to trust, and more vulnerable to abusive behavior.”
The site goes on to describe child grooming as a “deliberate act of establishing an emotional bond with a child, to lower the child’s resistance.”
Outside of their nearly 18-year age gap (Drake turns 32 soon) the fact that he’s sending “I miss you” texts and giving her relationship advice is sending red flags.

Brown has responded to the critical backlash from her relationship with Drake. She posted on her Instagram story a lengthy statement about how her friendship with Drake is purely a friendship and there is nothing predatory about it.
“Why u gotta make a lovely friendship ur headline? U guys are weird… For real. im lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance. Im very blessed to have amazing people in my life. u dont get to choose that for me. its nice to have people understand what i do. Now get back to talking about real problems in this world other than my friendships… jeez.”
What do you think about their friendship?
