Remember in September when Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin went to the New York City courthouse to get a marriage license and the tabloids freaked out and reported the couple got married? And then Baldwin went on Twitter said she isn’t married, but then deleted it? Well turns out Bieber and Baldwin actually did get married.
TMZ is reporting that Beiber and Baldwin got married that day in the courthouse.
According to TMZ, the couple had a preacher and a witness too. The preacher, Jeffrey Quinn is a member at Nyack College, which is near the courthouse. The witness was Josh Mehl, who is Bieber’s friend.
On September 13, the couple was spotted walking into the New York courthouse. The couple claimed they were just obtaining their marriage license, but People magazine reported they actually tied the knot. After that report, Baldwin tweeted, “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!”
Baldwin eventually deleted the tweet. People claim the couple got legally married, but would still have a religious ceremony with friends and family later on. TMZ confirms that the couple will have a formal wedding ceremony.
TMZ is also reporting the two got married without signing a prenup. The couple both reached out to lawyers but couldn’t get anything drafted quick enough to sign before they got married at the courthouse. The couple can still sign a postnup, but it’s not as normal as a prenup.
Baldwin and Bieber first met in 2009 thanks to Baldwin’s dad Stephen. The two were at first friends, but then rumors started to swirl that they were more than friends. The couple casually dated in 2016 but eventually called it quits. They got back together in early summer 2018 and quickly got engaged.
