Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were merely just red carpet friends before they became anything official.
Now that Nick proposed to Priyanka with a massive Tiffany & Co. diamond ring, it is a countdown to their wedding. With their wedding day getting closer and closer, Priyanka is opening up about how Nick went from just a friend to her now future husband.
Priyanka recently held her bridal shower at Tiffany in New York and revealed that Nick had made the first move. He sent a very bold text message elaborating how the two should get together. “He texted me. The first time was a text and just saying, ‘I think we should connect,’ and whatever and that’s how we started talking,” Priyanka told Entertainment Tonight.

Priyanka also raved about how Nick is the best partner ever. “Just being in the whole situation of finding somebody who can be a partner to you in so many more ways than one is amazing, so yes I’m very excited,” she said.
Priyanka said in an interview with People that the key to their relationship being successful is that they have an abundant amount of respect for each other. “By that, I don’t mean makes coffee for you, not that,” she clarified. “But someone who respects the hard work you put into your life.”

She clarifies that her opinion on a respectful person is someone “who respects that if his work is important, so is yours. Or if he makes choices that are important to him, so is your opinion. That’s respect, and that’s incredible to have.”
“Then everything is so easy because you give each other credit for your intelligence, you give each other the benefit of the doubt because you trust each other. There’s so much that comes out of that,” Priyanka adds.
Priyanka states that no one should settle for less than that.
