Demi Lovato Posts On Instagram For The First Time Since Overdose

Demi Lovato posted to Instagram for the first time since her reported overdose in July 2018.

Lovato broke her social media silence to share with her fans that she is voting and encouraging them to do the same.

“I am so grateful to be home in time to vote!” Lovato wrote. “One vote can make a difference, so make sure your voice is heard!🗳 🇺🇸 now go out and #VOTE!!!!”

On July 24 it was reported that Lovato was hospitalized for a drug overdose. The singer had a relapse in her sobriety and had to stay in the hospital for two weeks. After her realese, she shared a statement on Instagram that is now deleted.

“I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction,” she wrote. “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”

Lovato thanks her fans, family and God for keeping her alive.

“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery,” the singer concluded. “The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.”

She entered rehab after her overdose and after 90 days sober she was released from the program, according to TMZ.
