Oscars 2019: Host, Date, Start Time, TV Channel & Location

Kumail Nanjiani and Tracee Ellis Ross have just announced the nominees for the 91st Academy Awards, a.k.a the Oscars on Tuesday morning, January 22 and many of which are already streaming online.

Roma and The Favourite are leading the pack with 10 nominations each. The two films will go up against one another in the Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay categories.

The Best Picture category has eight nominees for the 91st ceremony. Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book, the two movies that have been the subject of controversy and were previously honored with Best Picture trophies at the Golden Globes, are both nominated.

There Will Be No Host

According to ABC, there will be no host for the 2019 Oscars.

Kevin Hart was initially announced to be the show’s host in December 2018. However, he dropped out following the online backlash against year-long homophobic tweets. After speculation that he might reconsider, Hart told Good morning America that he would not be hosting and that he is done talking about the controversy.
