The ‘Stranger Things 3’ Trailer Just Dropped & It’s Intense

The very first trailer for Stranger Things 3 is finally here and it looks intense. It’s been almost two years since the second season came out so every Stranger Things fan is impatiently waiting for season 3 to drop.

The trailer starts with Dustin returning home from away camp and he gets surprised by all of his friends, which doesn’t go as planned. Lucas ends up getting sprayed in the eyes with hairspray.

It’s summertime in Hawkins and that is something fans have never been able to experience. Billy got a job as a lifeguard and Steve is working at an ice cream shop. Hopper is waiting for someone at a fancy restaurant. Joyce is eating a microwave dinner. Lastly, Finn declares that they aren’t kids anymore, cue the teenage angst.

Even though the gang is growing up, they still seem super tight, Dustin and Steve’s bromance is still going strong and the 80s are in full force.

Max takes Eleven to the brand new mall in Hawkins. Part of the town is upset with the huge corporate mall and protest it. Enter the new mayor, Larry Kline, who looks like a golden boy and a bit slimy.

Then things get dark. Hopper is injured and clearly searching some someone or the kids at the town fair, a strange man has a gun, Billy has a wound, Eleven looks like she’s in the suken place and some huge electrical explosion happens.

Erica, Lucas’ sister, has a shining part in the trailer and is crawling through the air vent. Murray Bauman is back and a new character Bruce is introduced and he looks creepy. Then cut to a new breed of Demogorgon monster.

Previously, executive producer Shawn Levy revealed some details about season 3. First off, Will is getting a break and won’t be in trouble. “We’re going to give Will a break,” Levy told Glamour. “We’re not going to put Will through hell for a third season in a row. He’ll be dealing with stuff, but he won’t be at rock bottom the way we forced the amazing Noah Schnapp to play.”

Levy also said that there will be a time jump between season 2 and season 3, which is now obvious. Season 2 ended at the winter dance and season 3 starts in the middle of summer. The time jump is because the actors are getting older and they need the show to seem believable. Like Finn said, they aren’t kids anymore.

Stranger Things season 3 drops July 4, 2019.
