It seems like many of us choose our morning beverage as a fashion statement these days. In Starbucks it’s like a competition for who can shoot the barista the most complicated order…triple venti, half sweet, non-fat caramel macchiato, anyone? Although those drinks might taste wonderful after that all-nighter with the cute boy in 3A, it’s pretty obvious there may only be, like, one natural ingredient in them.
Not surprisingly, lot of these drinks don’t fit into a clean-eating lifestyle with all their synthetic flavors and sweeteners. So, how can you look super cute and look like you care about your health while walking across the quad? With a little tea tag hanging out of your cup of course.
Tea is actually the OG of the hot bev battle, having been discovered in China in 2737 BC, while coffee (NKOTB) didn’t slide on in until the 9th Century AD. Tea has been known to boast many health benefits, most notably preventing cancer and degenerative diseases. Coffee has significantly less of a presence on the health-benefit scale (which I believe, because it actually makes me sick). After drinking a cup of tea, I feel really light and fresh, like I just did my body a favor.
I know a lot of people our age are all about staying up to study (or party) and having that kickass creamy smooth flavor that coffee brings to the table. However, ya’ll are trippin’ because tea tastes great with many of the same ingredients coffee pairs so well with, plus it can pack some serious caffeine power, if needed.
