Lauren Conrad might make a living out of convincing everyone alive that she’s chicer than your average, but anyone who watched Laguna Beach knows better. Honestly, though, my dream life involves being paid to be a person, just like her. Every avid viewer of Laguna/The Hills knows that Lauren used to be a vision of SoCal coolness, in a time when Juicy sweatsuits were the pinnacle of style. Even though Lauren Conrad loves to pretend that L.C. never existed, we know better. How could we (and Netflix) forget her love for Ste-phen? How could we forget her perfect best friendship with Lo?

Luckily, the best biddies reunited over the weekend for a wedding that was Pinterest perfection. I assume it’s the pregame to Lauren’s nuptials. I also assume that it was like Bridesmaids, only better (albeit more basic). If you’re interested in full creeping on the event of the century, the wedding hashtag is such a gem. Unfortunately, even Valencia couldn’t make those bridesmaid dresses look anything other than “flesh toned.”

I feel like “taupe” has to be the most popular bridesmaid color of all time. After the whole Pippa debacle there’s no way in hell a bride would let her bridesmaids overshadow her, especially when they’ve done so much Pinterest planning. I’ve heard of matching your nails to your lipstick (dated), but never matching your dress to your skin so completely. It manages to wash everyone out in different ways, letting the bride shine. Real talk: no one wants C-list celebrities to upstage them on their special day, even when said “reality” celebs are your besties. As someone who has personally rocked this particular hideous shade, it blends into most curtains in wedding venues, which makes for a good game of drunken hide and seek.

Best of all? Steeeeepheennnnnn reunited with the original love of his life. No, not Kristen or Lauren, but Dieter Schmitz, who’s looking pleasantly plump these days. Remember him? If not, I think that’s grounds for a Laguna Beach binge watch session immediately. As much as I absolutely love Lauren’s new beau from his Something Corporate days, I can’t help but hope her wedding will really be to Stephen. Now that Kristen’s knocked up constantly and therefore off the market, the love triangle can be over once and for all. Lauren and Stephen can honeymoon in Cabo, while she dances on tables as he watches (I hear that’s what he’s into).

In my dream life, Lo and L.C. would be walking each other down the aisle. It would be like an early celebration Throwback Thursday. They may look absolutely gorgeous now, but that doesn’t mean America can (or should) ever forget the magic that was the Laguna Beach years. After all, those were simpler times. No need for skin colored dresses when you could rock Abercrombie and Fitch minis, pre-Photoshop and ombré days. “Basic” might not have been part of our own personal urban dictionary back then, but that doesn’t mean L.C. and Lo weren’t the epitome of it (in the best possible way).
