Back in the olden days, people met their future hubby on campus– now we meet on Tinder. If you’ve been hoping that your school produces perfect potential significant others, there’s a new study with news for you. A paid matchmaking service called The Dating Ring (unclear why matchmaking services still exist when online dating does– although, full disclosure, I would still be on The Millionaire Matchmaker for the chance to meet Patty and the man of my dreams).
The Dating Ring looked at feedback from 1,600 people over an 18 month period to see which college alumni provided the most enjoyable dates. It was based on people who said they’d go on a second date. There are 316 colleges represented, which means the results aren’t representative of the whole country (and might even omit your particular university). I was surprised to see that the list features smaller schools, because I figured the large state schools would have the best chance based on numbers alone. Most people surveyed live in NYC, the city of first dates (81%), and the other 19% are in San Francisco. Since most people surveyed were New Yorkers, it makes sense that most schools on the list are up north. So, if you’re looking for the most dateable alumni in the country it looks like you’ll have to move to New York City (unfortunately, Chuck Bass is already taken).
