How To Plan The Perfect Pinterest Party

A few weeks ago, I posted an article you can read on College Candy called Top 5 Best Party Themes And Ideas for the Pinterest finds column about different party ideas on the app. However, it is one thing to have a party theme and another to actually know how to throw said party. So, for all of those who are party planning-challenged, here is a mini outline/guide on how to plan the perfect Pinterest party.

1. Choose A Theme

Hollywood-Party-DecorThe number one most, most, mooooooosssssst important thing: picking the perfect theme. Pinterest is the best place for party planning from weddings, to baby showers, to every kind of party you could ever dream of. Pick a theme then we can get the ball rolling!

2. InvitationsKids-Birthday-Party-Invitations

Okay so I know a lot of people aren’t going to hit up Party City for invites, but there are tons of sites you can visit to send out e-vites to let guests know about your amazing event. Orrrrrrrr, if you aren’t really into that- post info about your party on your Twitter and Instagram to let your followers know when and where the party will be.

3. Musicpinterest_music_note

Music. Music. Music. Did I say music? I literally cannot emphasize how important the appropriate music is for your event. Don’t play Beethoven at the regular Friday night kickback and don’t blast the latest YG songs at a sorority tea. Appropriate music can make or break a party. Choose wisely!

4. Food & Drinkspinterest-food-drink

If you’re not throwing a dinner party, there is no need for super heavy foods like ribs and steak. Finger foods like mini sandwiches and burger sliders are always a hit. Also, it is very important to have a decent range of drinks for your guests. Not everyone is a drinker and not everyone is a coffee lover. Take your guests preferences into consideration as you plan your menu.

5. Décor!pinterest1

Decorations are super important. You have to have cute décor to liven up the space for your party in order to set the mood. However, being appropriate comes into play again, because gold glitter balloons and beer kegs don’t mix. They do not mix.

6. Enjoy Yourself!

Lastly, this technically isn’t a rule because it should be obvious: have fun! Just because you’re the party planner doesn’t mean you can’t get your swerve on too! After the planning is all done, grab a drink and enjoy yourself. You deserve it.
