Unless you’ve been living under a rock since 2006, you know that Taylor Swift is a big deal. She has won Grammys, American Music Awards, and last night, took home another eight statues from her 14 nominations at the Billboard Music Awards (and also premiered her badass “Bad Blood” music video). Now she’s adding another win to her growing list – the number one spot on Maxim magazine’s annual Hot 100 list!
Swift is in good company. Past winners include Candice Swanepoel (2014), Miley Cyrus (2013), Bar Refaeli (2012), Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (2011), and Tay’s rumored “Bad Blood” target Katy Perry (2010).
“It’s really nice and such an incredible compliment,” Swift said of the honor. “This year has been my favorite year of my life so far. I got to make an album exactly the way I wanted to make it. I got to put it out exactly the way that I dreamed of putting it out. Every one of these kinds of whims and ideas came to fruition. The videos—I’m proud of those, I’m proud of the tour, I’m proud of the way this has all happened. In the midst of all that, this is really nice.”
T. Swift looks crazy hot (naturally, it is the Hot 100 list) on the cover, where she appears with minimal makeup and slicked back hair.
Swift landed the top spot, but the list is no longer numbered like in previous years. Instead, 100 female entertainers are organized by different subcategories based on their achievements and work. Comedian Amy Schumer and actress Monica Bellucci, the first 50-year-old to make the cut — Bellucci will debut later this year as a Bond girl in the James Bond film Spectre — are also on the list.
If you’re familiar with Maxim, as some of your guys friends probably are, you know that its Hot 100 list is usually full of scandalous photos, but you won’t find any nudes of T. Swift this year. Under editor in chief Kate Lanphear, Maxim’s Hot 100 list is now an all-inclusive lifestyle list that includes summer films, travel destinations, restaurants, and trendy beverages.
“[Taylor Swift] was my dream cover, and she was chosen based on her accomplishments and upcoming projects. Taylor is hot in every sense of the word,” Lanphear said.
