Condoms are great. They’re literally an extra layer of protection between you and your true love summer fling that prevents all kinds of things you don’t want in your body. However, honestly, we all wish there was some other way (short of pullin’ and prayin’). Can’t there be a way to make safe sex…sexy?
Well, someone is trying. Condoms are now being made in spray form by a company called “Girlplay.” A student from Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute by the name of Michele Chu created a “bandage-like condom” that promises to mold to the perfect fit of the wearer. She told Bustle,
Ever since I was small, there hasn’t been much change or breakthrough in the condom market, even in the physical appearance itself. The wrapper, the way it is put on, nothing has changed. It needed something new and fresh.
I’m not totally convinced that watching my bf spray his penis is any sexier than putting on a rubber, plus I’m going to need to see some stats on its effectiveness before I give this a go, but Chu has the right idea trying to make condoms sexy.
In addition to the magical condom mist, Girlplay is also offering a so-called “lover’s kit.” In it there will be the condom spray, some old fashioned condoms, and a smartbra. There’s a remote in the kit that controls and unhooks the bra (for those guys who can’t seem to master the one-handed unclasp) as well as changes settings, modes, and flavors of the condom.
It’s the sex of the future, people.
