All members of the Beyhive: Stop what you’re doing. Some awesome news just broke about Queen Bey!
Currently, Beyonce is in talks to join NBC’s production of The Wiz as Glinda the Good Witch! This is probably the perfect role for the flawless queen. Beyonce is not the only star-studded artist to join the cast of this production; singer Mary J Blige and Queen Latifah have already signed up to play the Wicked Witch of the West, Evillene, and the Wizard, respectively.
Although this seems like the perfect cast for the legendary musical, Beyonce as not been the only person who has been considered for the role. It has also been said that Orange Is The New Black actress Uzo Aduba has also been asked about taking the part as well. The deal between Beyonce and NBC has not yet been finalized but, either way, this cast is still going to be absolutely phenomenal.
I am definitely crossing my fingers in hopes that this actually does get a chance to happen because, as a resident of planet Earth, I absolutely love Bey. Forget Carrie Underwood in The Sound of Music or Allison Williams in Peter Pan – Beyonce will pull in millions of viewers with a snap of her fingers. I’m especially excited because The Wiz was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid – you should check it out if you haven’t yet. I’m just hoping they don’t mess it up…
The TV musical is set to air on NBC on December 3.
