It’s the season of love! We all grew up and loved the hit musical Rent, a story about a group of friends living in the East Village during the AIDS epidemic. When the show closed in 2008, tears were shed as the popular show left the Nederlander Theatre on Broadway. Now, Rent will reopen at the Long Island City’s Secret Theatre for its 20th anniversary in September! Here are some of our favorite songs from the iconic show.
Rent will be showing September 23-26. Tickets are $20 for students or alumni of the theater and $25 for general admission. Directed by Nick Brennan with musical direction by Andy Peterson and choreography by John de los Santos, the cast features Bernard Holcomb as Collins, Mia Johnson as Joanne, Lindsay Lavin as Maureen, Nina Negron as Mimi,
