YouTube has answered our prayers – now we can waste even more time watching pointless videos. Following in Hulu’s footsteps, YouTube has announced they will also be offering an ad-free version for users. The subscription service is called YouTube Red and will be live on October 28 for $9.99 per month. Not only will this service be free of ads, but users will be able to save content offline, which includes content from YouTube Music and Gaming.
Early next year, YouTube Red will also feature original content in hopes of competing with Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. Keep an eye out for a movie starring popular YouTuber Lily Singh, a singing competition series from The Fine Brothers, and a horror series featuring PewDiePie.
