ASU students and faculty had quite a scare Monday when a campus shooting threat was found on the website 4chan. Thankfully, nothing came of the incident, and police have actually tracked down the poster.
Turns out, the person had nothing to do with Arizona State University. In fact, the poster was a 12-year-old kid from Canada. Seems that the little sh*t took a break from playing solitaire to scare an entire community.
According to USA Today, the shooting threat originated from an online gaming website conversation.
“The juvenile has been contacted by Canadian authorities and apologized for his actions and the disruption they caused,” the statement said.
Because the boy is 12, police aren’t releasing the name. It seems no charges will be filed despite the severity of the situation.
