Sarah Palin Endorses Donald Trump

If you needed any other reason to not vote for Donald Trump (other than owning a brain, heart and having a pulse), Sarah Palin has provided you with yet another reason. The former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidental nominee endorsed Donald Trump for president at a rally at Iowa State University on Tuesday. This endorsement comes 13 days before the Iowa Caucus.

Palin said she was “proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for president of the United States of America” and single-handedly made herself the only person proud to endorse the Republican front-runner. In response to her endorsement, Trump replied that he was “greatly honored to received Sarah’s endorsement. She is a friend, and a high-quality person whom I have great respect for.  I am proud to have her support.”

It was rumored that Palin would endorse the real estate mogul’s campaign for days. Senator Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign criticized the potential move on Sunday. Cruz’s spokesman, Rick Tyler, told CNN’s New Day:

“I think it’d be a blow to Sarah Palin, because Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause, and if she was going to endorse Donald Trump, sadly, she would be endorsing someone who’s held progressive views all their life on the sanctity of life, on marriage, on partial-birth abortion.”

Palin’s family viewed Cruz’s comment as a betrayal. Bristol, Palin’s daughter, wrote a blog post entitled “Is THIS Why People Don’t Like Cruz?” in response to Cruz’s criticism.

Cruz attempted to reconcile with the Palin family by tweeting his support over to Sarah Palin on Wednesday morning.

There’s a lot of Republican drama happening these days. Perhaps Trump will be invited over to view Russia from her house sometime this weekend?
