Instagram is a wonderful way to express yourself…except when they’re trying to control your account.
Blogger Aarti Olivia Dubey recently wrote an article for CLEO magazine about overcoming her fear of wearing a bathing suit in public. Although she was nervous and emotional about getting in front of people – and a camera – in her swimwear, she was proud of herself for doing it.
Then she got a notification from Instagram – pictures from her bikini shoot had been taken down because they violated community guidelines.

Instagram restored the photos, but Aarti wasn’t going to let it slide.
“This is a little too late after I had to deal with all the bloody trolls and haters last week. It’s almost TWO weeks,” she wrote under a photo of Instagram’s apology email. “So I accept your apology Instagram but it does not change a thing. You have placed the image back but at what cost?”
She continued, “Please remember that if this ever happens again, I assure you it will be a battle cry I will announce because You are answerable to ALL of my plus size friends for removing their images or accounts on Instagram or Facebook. Check your latent fatphobia.”
