A bad movie is a bad movie, no matter how famous the actor is. Forbes manages to prove that with their annual “Most Overpaid Actors” list. For the second year in a row, Johnny Depp takes the top spot as the most overpaid actor Hollywood has. That doesn’t look too good on his end.

This blow comes shortly after a divorce settlement of $7 million between him and now ex-wife, Amber Heard, whom Depp was accused of abusing both physically and verbally. But before the settlement was finalized in August, news surrounding the actor went from bad to ugly. The title of “Most Overpaid Actor” definitely doesn’t help his reputation.
In second place is Will Smith, who returned $5 for every $1 he was paid. This is largely due to a recent stream of lower-performing movies including Focus and Concussion. The latter barely met the $34 million production costs. In a surprising turn of events, Channing Tatum takes the bronze. Although Magic Mike XXL brought in over eight times as much revenue as its production costs, Jupiter Ascending was a huge financial disappointment. Will Farrell and George Clooney take 4th and 5th place, respectively.
Will Depp and the others be able to pull through on their next movie? Only time and the box office will tell.
