Someone Wrote A Fan Fic About The Distracted Boyfriend Meme & It Will Make Your Day

I love memes and I love fanfiction. Put that together and you get this gem of a Twitter thread.

If you’ve been perusing the internet, chances are you’ve come across your fair share of memes. We’ve had Evil Kermit, Pepe the Frog, Obama and Biden, and even the occasional Trump meme. Heck, a group of people even made a Meme Bible for all you jokers out there. Now one Twitter user decided to make the meme even better by writing a hilarious back story for our reading pleasure.

Andrew Abernathy was just perusing Shutterstock when he came across Antonio Guillem’s photo collection. In short, he had the original photo of The Distracted Boyfriend at his disposal. Instead of making his own version of the meme, Abernathy dug a little deeper and found that Guillem had a lot more pictures where that came from. The photographer took photos of the same couple in a number of scenarios, leading to this gem of a story that I consider Fanfiction.

Buckle down and grab some snacks. This is going to be a bumpy ride.

So far so good. It feels normal so far, but I can’t help wonder what they’re buying. It has to be big considering they need to see a consultant about it. Something bad is about to happen. I can feel it.

Okay, THAT escalated quickly!

Wait… I thought this was supposed to be a fun story? Aren’t memes supposed to make us laugh? At most maybe some dark humor, but I’m getting worried here.

Someone pass the popcorn. I finished my bag already and I don’t wanna miss the good part coming up. Abernathy might want to turn to writing in his spare time. This is some good stuff.

Karma sucks, doesn’t it?

Girl, you leave that man. Get yourself some happiness. You don’t need that Shutterstock man in your life. If that Twitter story left you wanting more, Abernathy has you covered. In fact, he openly admitted that there’s more where that came from.

Interested? Find some Shutterstock pictures and continue Abernathy’s work. The story doesn’t end until you say it does!
