Lana Del Rey has been served with a hefty lawsuit from Radiohead. The rock band is suing Lana over similarities between their song “Creep” and her song “Get Free.” Lana confirmed the lawsuit in a tweet. She said that her song wasn’t inspired by Radiohead, but still offered them 40% of the royalities but Radiohead wants all or nothing.

Radiohead vs. The People’s Queen, Lana Del Rey, is what the lawsuit should read. But seriously Lana fans (what is her fanbase nickname?) have declared Radiohead to be over.

But what makes this lawsuit even funnier is that Radiohead doesn’t even own all the royalties to “Creep” because they lost a copyright lawsuit. “Creep” shares a chord progression and melody with the Hollies song, “The Air That I Breathe” and the Hollies sued and won.
Literally they owe royalties to the Hollies for The Air That I Breathe and you were even generous enough to offer 40 when they deserve none

Radiohead did not invent the chord progression they actually stole it so they have no right to sue, get over yourselves #RadioheadIsOverParty pic.twitter.com/56Gnryqdmj

Personally, I don’t think Lana ripped off Radiohead. There are some minor structural similarities between the two songs, but nothing to warrant 100% of the royalties or even a lawsuit. Listen to the two songs here.
