Chicken nuggets are a powerful force in our society. The most popular tweet of 2017 was an effort to score a lifetime of free nuggets, a teen went viral last year for presenting his girlfriend with a bouquet of breaded white chicken instead of flowers, and last June, a Texas woman called the police because her chicken nuggets weren’t ready yet.
Concerning as some of these facts may be, the U.K. is now throwing a Fried Chicken Festival in chicken nuggets’ honor, and it’s long overdue.
According to Metro, the U.K.’s “first ever chicken nuggets festival” is happening this summer in both London and Manchester, August 11 and September 22 respectively. We Love Food is hosting the event, complete with live bands, a chicken nugget eating competition to crown Nugget King and Nugget Queen, and an enormous variety of nuggets.
