The Most Important Part Of Taylor Swift’s New Music Video Is This Mom’s Cameo

In what feels like a perpetual cycle of bad news, our society clings to the wholesome, the inspiring, and the adorable — and a now-viral Twitter interaction between a determined mother and a proud daughter fits all three categories with ease.

Taylor Swift dropped her “Delicate” music video during the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 11, featuring a ten-second scene with 57-year-old Junko Cheng, a new actress. Junko plays the woman applying lipstick in an elevator directly in front of Taylor, who cannot see her because she’s ~invisible~.

She’s also gone viral, in part for achieving such a major role so late in her career — and in part because of a heartwarming exchange with her daughter on social media.

“This is my mom,” her daughter, 17-year-old Megumi Cheng, tweeted when the video aired. “She’s 57 and felt like pursuing acting recently… mostly for shits and giggles, but here she is. So beautiful.”

“I actually made my teenage daughter proud,” Junko responded, to over 300,000 likes. “#winning.”

The sweet interaction is making Twitter swoon — and want to call their moms immediately.

Cheng may have had a late start to her acting career, but according to Billboard, she booked the role “on the first day her agency Prestigious Models… posted her profile online.”

Her daughter has a lot to be proud of.
