It hasn’t been an easy week for Kendall Jenner. The highest-paid model in the world recently dragged other lesser known models for working multiple shows.
In a recent interview with Love magazine, Kendall said that she’s “selective” of the shows and jobs she books, unlike those other models.
“Since the beginning we’ve been super selective about what show I would do. I was never one of those girls who would do like 30 shows a season of whatever the f**k those girls do. More power to ’em. But I had a million jobs, not only catwalks but everything else. The whole combination was very overwhelming and I started to freak out a little bit and needed to take a step back.”
Her comments caused an immense backlash from “those girls” a.k.a. her modeling peers. Models took to their Instagrams to drag Jenner for judging models who work.
Models called her “lazy” and to keep her “f**king mouth shut.” They also shared stories about their impeccable work ethic and how they are proud of walking in multiple shows a season.

Models weren’t the only ones to hop on the Drag-Jenner-To-Filth train. Fashion fans and industry people took to Twitter to well, drag Jenner to filth, for her comments and apparent lack of work ethic.
I’m shocked but not surprised by this attitude. Not everyone gets to skip castings, get paid more than everyone else and generally work less- it’s not about being “selective”, it’s about not having to put the work in but still receiving all the campaigns and editorials. https://t.co/13WsCRUNT5

“Whatever the fuck those girls do” as though those girls just LOVE working grueling hours only to get passed over for someone who has more instagram followers because she’s been famous since she was like 9 and thus doesn’t have to really try too much but go off I guess https://t.co/qSrQt0DcnJ

other models: attend multiple castings a day, started modeling at 14 to maybe get noticed at 20, share an apartment with 6 other aspiring models, use all their money to travel for castings, work hard as fuck to get an agency

People tweeted that it was only a matter of days before Jenner said her quote as taken out of context and she didn’t mean what she said.
Lol give it a few days and see Kendall Jenner come up with another lame ass apology and cry session in the show about that LOVE magazine feature

And they were right.
A representative for Jenner told Buzzfeed that her quote was taken out of context.
“Mid-thought she realized the number of shows some models walk a season is closer to 80. The point was that it’s their path and “the more power to them.” She admires their hard work and dedication. It’s an accomplishment.”
Jenner even took to Twitter to clear up her supposed misquoted quote. She tweeted that she “misrepresented” and wanted to clarify what she said.
“The respect that I have for my peers is immeasurable!” she wrote. “I’m inspired by so many of these people I have had the good fortune to work alongside! Ther’es no way I could EVER hate on that I want everyone to win. SLAY ALWAYS.”
I was misrepresented in a recent interview over the wknd & it’s important to clarify the meaning. It was intended to be entirely complimentary but unfortunately, my words were twisted & taken out of context.I want to be clear. The respect that I have for my peers is immeasurable!

I get to experience first hand their tireless commitment, their work ethic, the endless days, the lack of sleep, separation from family and friends, stress of traveling, the toll on physical and mental health, yet they still make it all look effortless and beautiful.

What do you think about Jenner saying she was misquoted?
