How to Handle Valentine’s Day When You’re in a Long Distance Relationship

Does anyone really actually like Valentine’s Day? I mean, sure, love is great and all, but it can really be one hell of a tricky holiday to navigate.

Typically, it is the people who are single that hate this holiday the most, for obvious reasons. They think it is a Hallmark Holiday that is completely overdone and is a stupid excuse for people who are in love to throw it in the rest of the world’s face. I mean, shouldn’t EVERY DAY be a time to show your S/O just how much you mean to them?!

But single people aren’t the only ones who can get kind of depressed around V-Day. Because they aren’t the only ones who don’t have anyone to cuddle up next to. The other people? Those in long distance relationships.

Sure, at least being in a long distance relationship means that you still have someone – but it can be even more painful for that exact reason: it’s a reminder of how much distance is actually between you two and that, even though you have someone to love, you can’t actually enjoy it – at least not in the ways you really want to, the ways in which everyone else around you does.

So how do you deal? Fortunately, there are a number of ways that you can make this V-Day enjoyable with your SO, regardless of how far away they are. It just takes some effort, thought and creativity.
