When it comes to her body, Emily Ratajkowski does not mess around. Even though the model and aspiring actress admits how lucky she is for her blessed metabolism, she still stays on track on her work out routines to chisel her features. However, her focus on working out and maintaining her body doesn’t stop her from feasting on delectable cuisines from different countries.
Here’s how Ratajkowski manages to stay in shape despite having an insanely bust schedule.
She keeps breakfast simple.
Either you’re a big eater or the type who grabs a banana before heading out, but Ratajkowski likes to keep things simple. “Every day I go to Blacktop Coffee and get this pastry called kouign-amannwith my black coffee,” she told Bazaar. Whatever that is, we’re into it.
She sticks to healthier choices at lunch.
“Lunch is usually a salad or a sandwich,” she said. “If I’m on set, I’ll have catering, but I’m well-behaved with that stuff. It’s easy to go crazy – they know how to feed you.”
Snacks aren’t really her thing.
“I wouldn’t say I am the type of girl who craves Doritos, but I definitely love a good cupcake sometimes,” Ratajkowski told Elle. “Or a croissant in the morning.”
She’s literally always going out to eat.
The girl loves her steak, especially when a chef cooks it for her. “You know, I’m a carnivore,” the model mentioned to Elle. “I really like to eat meat. I crave iron so I am definitely not the kind of person who you will often find eating a plain salad. I like to keep it really balanced to give my body energy and also be healthy.”
She aded that she never eats dinner at home — ever. “I never eat at home,” she said. “Dinner is my time to be social and catch up with people. I love this Italian restaurant downtown called Bestia. It’s kind of fun, they have good cocktails and wine. If I’m trying to be a little healthier, there’s Café Gratitude downtown. There’s amazing sushi at this tiny place called Mako in Little Tokyo. And I also love uni. Anything with uni in it is great for me.”
She doesn’t spend as much time at the gym as you’d think.
Even Ratajkowski finds it tough to fit exercising into her daily schedule. Yet, she devotes her days off to maintaining her fit body. “Days off, I’ll get some time to exercise, maybe go on a hike or a yoga class,” she told Bazaar.
Water and sleep are always the answer.
It is essential to have at least eight glasses of water a day, and Ratajkowski doesn’t take this fact lightly. She tries to get plenty of water throughout the day and enough hours of sleep. “Before bed, I chug water and take off my make-up … I sleep the best in my own bed, which is too bad because I’m not sleeping in my bed enough,” she admitted to Bazaar.
She tries to give herself breaks — and so should you.
“I think it’s really important to give yourself a break,” she told Elle. “And also just really think about where things are coming from and what kind of ingredients are going into your body.” Amen.
