Set your watches and start your timers, because the official release date for the long-awaited Frozen 2 has finally been confirmed!
While there’s been talk of a sequel to the EXTREMELY popular animated film since back in 2015, it was really only a matter of when. Finally, after years of waiting, we can now say for sure that Frozen 2 is set to hit theaters November 27, 2019, exactly six years after its predecessor, and it has some big shoes to fill. We’re not worried though, since sources say the reason the film will take so long is because Disney really wants to give it their all.
While the wait may seem daunting for you diehard Frozen fans, don’t worry. Disney has you covered. There’s a Christmas special scheduled for sometime late 2017, and it’s said to be starring everyone’s favorite happy snowman, Olaf!
Frozen will also be taking to the stage in spring of 2018 as a Broadway musical with songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, which isn’t surprising since they did such a phenomenal job with the movie. Supposedly one of the play’s original songs, True Love, is just as catchy as Let it Go was, so prepare for earworms! (How many amazing covers do you think this one will inspire?)
After that, it’s all speculation. We know the film will be starring everyone’s favorite Disney sisters, but as far as plot goes I guess we’ll just have to be left out in the cold for just a little bit longer. Luckily, the cold never bothered us anyway.
