The Columbia Fireflies have been making headlines all year, which is strange for a minor league baseball team. Ever since the New York Mets affiliate acquired Tim Tebow, the team can’t keep out of the spotlight. At one of their most recent games, one man’s carefully planned marriage proposal went terribly wrong and it was all captured on video.
The video starts off the with maintenance team dancing to Bruno Mars’ hit song “Marry You.” It’s cute, corny and eerily similar to the Yankees’ YMCA dance. But then the four dancing grown men kneel and pick up four signs. The writing on the signs is washed out, but it’s safe to assume there is a marriage proposal written on them. Think the classic “will you marry me?” kinda thing. The crowd cheers and the camera

The woman is visibly horrified, so she grabs her purse and leaves the stadium.
It’s painfully awkward and full of secondhand embarrassment, but who can resist watching it?
