It’s so easy to judge people even when you try your hardest not to. Mommy blogger Constance Hall shared a life lesson on her blog about how she judged a mom too quickly and now regrets it.
Her post started off how she always sees this one mom at school pickup. She said the the mom “Drove a nice car, held her head high and always had a blow dry. She spoke in a posh accent, wore nice (non stained) clothes and barely ever spoke to me.”
This mom made Constance feel inadequate and to put it bluntly like she didn’t have her shit together. “There I was, with my tits out breast feeding my babies, smelling like dried milk, matted hair, a puffy face from a morning in tears, no shoes and a partial bogan accent.. It was like he was put on this earth to amplify my insecurities.”
When she tried to complain about the “perfect” mom to another mom she told her “Talk to the woman not about her,” so that is what she did.
Constance struck up a conversation with the mom and found out that “She is an ex addict and hold AA meetings to help out other addicted women that want sobriety, I found out she struggles with her marriage, her kids and her health just like the rest of us.”
Since then Constance and that mom have become best friends. She shared this story to remind people that everyone has their own struggle despite their exterior.
