Homecoming season in amongst us and it’s a wonderful and hilarious time for high schoolers. Homecoming is the less serious of formal high school dances, which it makes it that much more fun. Missing out on homecoming can be a big deal. So when 17-year-old Blake Mounts was diagnosed with cancer and couldn’t attend the dance his friends organized a special hospital homecoming just for him.

Blake’s younger sister, Taylor is the one who came up with the idea to bring homecoming to him. The homecoming theme she came up with is “Fuck Cancer Homecoming.”
Blake didn’t attend his own homecoming stag. According to BuzzFeed News, his good friend Kaitlin O’Connor went to the hospital and asked him to homecoming. “She came in and surprised me and I had not idea,” said Blake.

Then his friends appeared all dressed up ready to celebrate with him. The night was a a huge success and Blake was happy to be a normal teen again. “It was nice to actually be wearing normal clothes and stuff and be with my friends all in the same room,” he said.
BuzzFeedTaylor was happy that her brother loved the surprise. “Honestly it was so amazing to see my brother so happy for the first time since he’s been in the hospital and it was the first time he had been out of his bed since then,” she told BuzzFeed.
