14 Incredible ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Moments You Definitely Forgot

Grey’s Anatomy fans, are you ready for the season 14 premiere of the best show on television?

All your favorite doctors will be back with a two-hour season premiere on Thursday, September 28 on ABC followed by the season four premiere of How to Get Away With Murder. Get psyched, Shonda fans.

At the end of season 13, an explosion rocked Grey Sloan Memorial. The blast left Stephanie face to face with an escaped rapist while she tried to protect an innocent girl. The fire resulted in Stephanie’s decision to leave the walls of the hospital and really live her life. Owen also received life-altering news that his presumably dead sister and Nathan’s lost love Megan is actually alive.

You probably remembered most of that, maybe needing a quick refresher or two, but Grey’s Anatomy has been on for so long that some seemingly memorable moments have easily been forgotten. In order to get you pumped up for next week, we highlighted 14 of the best moments from Grey’s Anatomy starting at the beginning.

1. First things first: the ‘stache!

Remember how tough Dr. Richard Webber was at the beginning?

“Each of you comes here today a hopeful. Wanting in on the game. A month ago you were in med school being taught by doctors. Today, you are the doctors. The seven years you spend here as a surgical resident will be the best and worst of your life. You will be pushed to the point. Look around you. Say hello to your competition. Eight of you will switch to an easier specialty. Five of you will crack under the pressure and two of your will be asked to leave. This is your starting line. This is your arena. How well you play? That’s up to you.”

2. When Addison randomly showed up at the hospital and revealed Derek’s marriage.

#Awkward. Obviously, Meredith and Derek had a rough beginning considering the new intern’s one night stand turned out to be her boss, but remember that Derek was secretly married? Addison seemed like such a threat to the scandalous relationship of Meredith and Derek, but looking back, she really had nothing on the power couple.

3. When Alex told everyone that Izzie was a model.

Yeah, this was a huge, dramatic plot point in season one. And not just any model. A lingerie model. Izzie was working towards being a surgeon so it’s understandable why she wouldn’t want anyone to know about her modeling days.

4. When Callie lived in the hospital basement.

And dated George, nonetheless.

5. When Meredith and George had a one night stand.

George had a huge crush on Meredith and even though Meredith didn’t feel the same way, she gave into her sexual desires in a weak moment. I forgot about this one, too.

6. When the guys went on a camping trip.

The guys of the hospital went along with Derek on a camping trip and Christina made fun of Burke for not being the outdoorsy type.

7. When George stood up to the racist patient.

“Since we’re sharing belief systems, I believe if you were dead, the world would be a better place.”

8. When Burke left Christina at the altar.

It’s clear now that surgery was always Christina’s one true love, but at the time, it was heart surgeon Dr. Burke. Marriage was never something Christina wanted, but she was at the alter, ready and waiting for Burke. He never showed.

9. When Denny died just an hour after proposing to Izzie.

Actually, you probably remember this one. But it happened so long ago and it’s too important not to add to this list.

10. Meredith drowned once.

Meredith decided to let go and she was dead for a few hours, but her friends were not ready to let her leave.

11. Guys night.

Owen, Mark, Derek, Ben and Jackson helped build the deck to Derek’s place and they sat and vented about all of their problems to each other.

12. When Henry died.

Teddy married the patient in order to get him insurance for his surgeries, but Henry eventually confessed his love to Teddy and wanted to be together for real. He even told Teddy that he wanted to go to medical school and the two lived together for a little bit. Henry eventually passed away during surgery.

13. When Christina and Meredith got drunk during a baseball game.

Owen organized a baseball game against Seattle Presbyterian in order to build teamwork skills among the Seattle Grace Mercy West team.

14. When Mandy Moore and Bailey hid from the gunman.

Derek and Alex were shot and we had to face the tragic deaths of Reed and Charles.

These 14 moments don’t even make a dent in all of those smaller moments that made this show as amazing as it is today, but hopefully they hyped you up for the big premiere.
