Abercrombie Kids Launches Collection Of Gender-Inclusive Clothing

Abercrombie Kids made strides this week by unveiling its new collection for kids all of all genders, the Everybody Collection. It’s the first collection the brand has debuted that will not be marketed to either boys or girls.

“Parents and their kids don’t want to be confined to specific colors and styles, depending on whether shopping for a boy or a girl,” brand president Stacia Anderson told WWD. “Our Everybody Collection is one assortment, in one size run, that covers the trends we are seeing in both color and style.”

This change comes from focus groups that prompted the brand to realize that “many customers, when shopping across genders, do not necessarily want to be restricted to certain styles and colors.”

Some Twitter users are applauding the change and praising the brand for being more inclusive. Others are pointing out that all clothing is gender-neutral, and what needs to be removed is the labels.

The unisex collection sizes run from 5/6 to 15/16 for any and all genders, and the 25 pieces of merchandise vary from hoodies to graphic tees to hats to sandals.

The collection is available both online and in stores now.
