People ignore messages on social media all the time, and they do so without any regret. Unless, of course, you just ignored Cardi B.
Back in 2015, when Vine was still around and Cardi B wasn’t famous, she messaged a Viner, asking him if he could share one of her Vines on his profile.
And He Ignored Her
He posted the thread on Twitter and said “my biggest mistake in life was ignoring @iamcardib when she messaged me on Vine”
She didn’t need his help after all. Cardi continued to make videos and ended up being a viral sensation on social media. Her social media presence helped her land a spot on VH1’s 6th season of Love and Hip Hop: New York which premiered in December 2015.
But This Wasn’t The Only Time Cardi B Was Rejected
Before reaching the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Cardi almost quit rapping. Cardi lived streamed a video back in December 2017, saying she was removed from a track because “one of the artists that were in the song felt like I was too small and they were too big for me to be in the same song as them,” says Cardi in the video.
This left Cardi “heartbroken,” and she contemplated on leaving the rap industry behind her. Luckily, her manager and publicist encouraged her to continue. Good thing she did, because 2017 was the year of Cardi B.
So the next time you are feeling down in the dumps because someone has ignored you, just remember Cardi B was too!
