Lady Gaga has spoken out about her fibromyalgia in the past, giving a voice and a role model to others who suffer from chronic pain.
Now, the “Million Reasons” singer is speaking out about her physical health again, explaining to her fans why she has decided to cancel the rest of her “Joanne” world tour.
“I’m so devastated I don’t know how to describe it,” she shared on Instagram accompanying an official statement about the cancellations. “All I know is if I don’t do this, I am not standing by the words or meaning of my music… I love this show more than anything, and I love you, but this is beyond my control.”
The official statement, also posted to her Instagram and Twitter accounts, reads that Gaga is “suffering from severe pain,” and is cancelling the remaining ten dates from her European tour.
Refunds are available beginning Tuesday, February 6, and we urge fans missing out on the show to practice compassion: in speaking out about her chronic health problems, Lady Gaga is raising awareness about both fibromyalgia and other invisible illnesses.
“I need to put myself and my well-being first,” Gaga concluded. “I love you, forever.”
