The Spice Girls struck hope in the hearts of ’90s kids everywhere when they reunited on Instagram earlier this month. “The future is looking spicy!” Baby Spice — er, Emma Bunton teased to her 675,000 not-so-chill fans.
In the consequent days, TMZ reported a Spice Girls reunion tour happening this summer, and Spice fans collectively held their breaths in fervent hope that what they want (what they really, really want) could come true.
Unfortuantely Tragically, Victoria Beckham would like these rumors to stop right now, thank you very much.
“I’m not going on a tour,” she told Vogue UK. “The girls aren’t going on a tour.”
That said, she is open to collaborating with her former band-mates in the future.
“There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for,” Beckham said. “What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around — brainstorming. I think there’s so much that the brand can do, and it’s such a positive message for young kids.”
Posh may have shut down the rumor of a tour, but she did not shut down the possibility of another Spice World movie outright — so we have that to cling to until the next reunion-scare.
