Dua Lipa is The Youngest Female Artist to Hit 1 Billion Views On YouTube

British singer Dua Lipa has taken over with her hit song “New Rules,” which has girls all over the world not calling their ex-boyfriends. The female artist has been singing since the young age of 14 where she began making YouTube videos. She was signed to Warner Music Group a couple years later.

Dua had immediate success releasing her first self-titled studio album in the summer of 2017, with top UK singles “IDGAF,” “New Rules” and “Be the One.” Since then, the singer has been nominated in five categories at the 2018 Brit Awards and was named the most streamed women of 2017 in the UK by Spotify.

The 22-year-old has also now hit 1 billion views for her music video “New Rules.” Maybe it’s the excellent choreography in the video, the flamingos or just Dua’s beauty that has made the music video so famous, either way, this amount of viewership has made her the youngest female artist to hit one billion views.

She has also had recent success with “IDGAF” that was just released one month ago and has 91 million views already.

Dua Lipa isn’t the first singer to hit this mark though. She is now tied up with many other pop female singers.

This super romantic hit has 1.6 billion views and was written for the famous movie saga Fifty Shades of Grey and even includes scenes from the film.


“Hello” – Adele

Adele just loves to make us cry with her music. The emotional song “Hello” is about a past relationship she’s still thinking of. The song was a massive hit with 2.2 billion views.


“Roar” – Katy Perry

Katy Perry has always had a successful music career, and continued it with the meaningful song “Roar.” The hit got 2.4 billion views with its message about standing up and letting your voice be heard.


 “Lean On” – Major Lazer and DJ Snake Featuring MØ

This pop song has all kinds of fun dancing and nice architecture in its famous music video. MØ sings this fun song while in ND Studios, Karjat (India), Kaul Heritage City, Vasai in Maharashtra (India). People love the song so much that it has reached 2.2 billion views since its release in 2015.

Sia’s “Chandelier” made us all want to be ballerinas or just want to be dancer Maddie Ziegler. The video which was apparently filmed in just one take is still famous to this day, and people have tried to recreate the young dancer’s moves. Sia’s vocals make this song super meaningful making the video a success with 1.7 billion views since it’s 2014 release.
