Jennifer Lawrence expressed the desire to take time off from acting late last year to buy a farm and milk some goats (which, somehow, same?) but she has since solidified her plans. Now, J-Law’s Year Off is all about activism.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Red Sparrow actress got candid about her future plans.
“I’m going to take the next year off,” she confirmed. “I’m going to be working with this organization as part of Represent.us… trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level.
“It doesn’t have anything to do with partisan [politics],” she clarified. “It’s just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy.”
Lawrence has been outspoken about DACA and women’s rights in the past, so her continued participation in outreach work doesn’t come as a surprise.
It’s amazing that J-Law wants to encourage young people to get engaged in their communities, especially now when voting matters more than ever. She can always milk goats when she’s retired.
