Katy Perry keeps making headlines while being a judge on American Idol. First, she made the media rounds for falling down and accidentally flashing the other judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Then she forcibly kissed a teenage male contestant when he didn’t want Perry to be his first kiss. Now in a new episode of American Idol Perry is adding fuel to the ongoing feud she has with fellow musician Taylor Swift.
Bryan asked an auditioning contestant who he looks up to and he said, “I’m sorry for this Katy: Taylor Swift.” For a nanosecond, Perry looked shocked then quickly responded, “Oh, you don’t have to be sorry.”
The contestant then added, “I love Taylor Swift.” To which Perry said, “I love her, as a songwriter, as well.” She then gave the SHADIEST look because saying that she loves Swift as a songwriter and nothing else wasn’t shady enough.

It’s nice of Perry to respect Swift on a professional level, but clearly, there is no personal love between the two.
Perry has fueled the two’s beef when it seems good for her. Perry and Swift started having bad blood in late 2013, or at least that’s when the public knew about it. Swift then released the song “Bad Blood” that fans think is about Perry. Perry then tweeted, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…” about Swift.
This past year Perry released “Swish Swish” which fans think is about Swift. She then went on Carpool Karaoke and declared that it was Swift’s job to finish their fight because she started it.
I tried to talk to her about it, and she wouldn’t speak to me. I do the right thing any time it feels like a fumble. [I got] a full shutdown, and then she writes a song about me [‘Bad Blood’]… that’s how you want to deal with it? Karma. There’s the law of cause and effect: you do something, there’s going to be a reaction. Trust me daddy, there’s gonna be a reaction
When Perry’s album Witness dropped in June 2017 Swift re-added all of her discographies to streaming services which fans think was a calculated move to hurt Perry’s streaming numbers. Perry has gone back and forth saying “Swish Swish” is about Swift and if she is over their bad blood or not.
The last time Perry spoke about the drama was on Australia’s Today Show saying, “I love her, I always have. We’ve had our differences but I just continue to say, ‘God bless her on her journey.”
So what’s the tea Perry? Do you still have bad blood or not? Either squash the beef and move on or keeping hating, but going back and forth isn’t a good look.
