With Prince Harry and Mehan Markle wedding coming up there is already speculation about how much the couple will be spending on the wedding. Reports say that Meghan’s wedding dress alone will set the royal family back a pretty penny of roughly $135,000. Their wedding will most likely cost a few million. Some are predicting it will cost around $45 million.
Spending a lot of money on a wedding is practically the norm if you’re royalty. It’s not only a huge day for the couple personally, but it is historic, so you can’t be skimping out on the flowers or the food. It’s a time to show off your families royal wealth in the name of love.

Princess Victoria and Daniel Wrestling got married in June 2010, despite her father King Carl XVI Gustaf’s disapproval. Their wedding was one of the biggest European weddings with roughly 1,200 people attending the ceremony. The wedding cost around 20 million kroner which is equivalent to about $2.5 million currently.

The couple got married in 1995 at St. Sophia’s Cathedral in London, England. The ceremony was host by Miller’s billionaire father Robert Warren Miller (he invented Duty Free Shops) and cost him about $1.5 million. The entire wedding including the ceremony, receptions and all the festivities totaled at roughly $8 million.

In September 2012 the Sultan of Brunei’s daughter, Princess Hajah Hafizah got married to Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini. Their wedding was so expensive that according to Yahoo, each guest cost the couple $1,000. They had 3,000 of their closest friends attend their ceremony. Her older brother’s wedding clocked in at number nine on this list, while her younger brother is higher up on the list.

The now King and Queen of Asturias got married in November 2003. Over 1,500 people attended their wedding in Madrid. It was the first wedding in the country’s capital in over a decade. Over 1,000 bottles of champagne were served and their cake was nearly 7 feet tall. Queen Letizia’s wedding dress had real gold accents and a 15-foot-long train. Queen Letizia recently made headlines for getting into a public fight with the Queen Mother on Easter.

The bride carried a bouquet of gems made to resemble flowers rather than flowers. The wedding festivities lasted 10 days.

It was the biggest wedding in Monaco since Prince Albert’s parents Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly got married. Rumors swirled before they got married that Charlene found out Albert had an illegitimate child with another woman while they were dating and tried to flee the country.
