Rihanna Got So Real About Body Image & Everyone Should Listen

Queen Rihanna is covering British Vogue coveted, September cover. September covers are always a big deal because September = Fashion month and honestly, who is a better fit beside Rihanna? If your answer is Beyonce, don’t worry because she’ll be on the cover of US Vogue.

Rihanna on Vogue

In the issue, Rihanna talked about body image and her thought’s on the matter. Buzzfeed reported that Vogue EIC, Edward Enninful asked her what it’s like to the woman every woman fancies. Rihanna reportedly answered, “OK, you’re asking the wrong person. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m ‘thicc’ now.” Thicc with 2 Cs!

She also talked about trying to spend more time in the gym. “I’m about to get back into the gym and stuff,” she explained, “and I hope I don’t lose my butt or my hips or all of my thighs. I’ll lose some but not all.” She started talking about her boobs and how they’re bound to get smaller when she starts working out a lot again. “And I think of my boobs, like, ‘Imma lose everything, everything goes!'” she said.

As if Rihanna couldn’t keep it more real, “But, you know, it comes with a price. You want to have a butt, then you have a gut.”  Do we need that on a mug?

Rihanna’s remarks about body image are so refreshing, real and she supports owning your own body. Especially coming from a publication like Vogue that only features the skinniest models, actresses and singers in their magazine, thank you for starting this conversation, Rihanna! In a world of Instagram models with the tiniest waists and massive behinds, take it from Rihanna, if you want a (real) butt you gotta have a gut. And if Rihanna says it, then it goes! We applaud her realness and we need more of it because today, loving your body and being happy with is not the norm!

As for the rest of her cover, Rihanna did bring back thin eyebrows which are scaring everyone because it’s only ugly till Rihanna say it isn’t, right?
