Everyone grab their black satin gloves and matching funeral veils, we are in mourning. Urban Decay has announced the end of their original Naked Palette.

Thursday the makeup brand confirmed that their iconic palette would be laid to rest. It was introduced eight years ago and has sold 30 million palettes and brought in $1 billion in revenue. Naked Palette really was that b***h.

“Saying goodbye to NAKED is extremely bittersweet,” founding partner of the brand Wende Zomnir said in a press release. “It was a big moment in our history. It’s a little painful to leave your past behind, but it’s also essential to always evolve. I will forever miss NAKED, but we plan to turn the grief into even more greatness. Urban Decay will continue to thrive in NAKED’s memory and honor – just wait and see.”

According to WWD, the neutral toned eye palette was so popular one sold every seven seconds. To commiserate the end of the legendary palette, Urban Decay held a funeral for it with Nichole Richie leading the eulogy. Heavy makeup hitters Kandee Johnson, Christen Dominique, Katy DeGroot, Shayla Mitchell and Chrisspy were all in attendance.

The funeral was recorded and published on the brand’s YouTube page. Everyone is sporting a neutral smoky eye in the palette’s honor.

“Everyone has tried to copy you, but no one has been able to capture your true essence,” Richie said. “You are the OG.”

“Today the world mourns Urban Decay’s beloved Naked Palette, the product that revolutionized neutral eyeshadows,” a statement from the makeup company says. “A little bit naughty, often dramatic, and always in the press, the innovative game-changer and category creator will be laid to rest after eight years, without a smudge of regret.”

“Passionate Naked collectors – and pretty much anyone with eyes – will remember Naked as the beauty product that changed their lids forever,” the statement continues. “It was beautiful ad mythical and millions of superfans, from misfits to moms to models, will miss Naked from Virgin to Gunmetal.”

The entire Naked line isn’t being laid to rest, just the palette that started it all. You can get the OG palette for $27 as opposed to it’s regular $54 price. But once it’s gone, it’ll be gone for good.
