Abercrombie Kids made strides this week by unveiling its new collection for kids all of all genders, the Everybody Collection. It’s the first collection the brand has debuted that will not be marketed to either boys or girls.
“Parents and their kids don’t want to be confined to specific colors and styles, depending on whether shopping for a boy or a girl,” brand president Stacia Anderson told WWD. “Our Everybody Collection is one assortment, in one size run, that covers the trends we are seeing in both color and style.”
This change comes from focus groups that prompted the brand to realize that “many customers, when shopping across genders, do not necessarily want to be restricted to certain styles and colors.”
Some Twitter users are applauding the change and praising the brand for being more inclusive. Others are pointing out that all clothing is gender-neutral, and what needs to be removed is the labels.
@Abercrombie Well guys where were you when I was growing up ??? I love the new gender neutral line you are putting out for kids!!! you’re making childhoods better in ways you just can’t imagine ! thanks for being hip to the times!!

I'm a grown ass man but I'm SO excited that Abercrombie launched a gender-inclusive line for KIDS. This is iconic & legendary as more and more young people are identifying as Genderqueer and trans non-binary.
That's fucking cool 🔥🔥🔥

“Buy our NEW Gender Neutral khaki pants and black tee. A perfect outfit for a kid who just wants to be a kid.”
