CC Beauty Live: Skin Care Basics

We go through a lot of make up and hair videos over here, but I don’t always go over skin care tips. How are you supposed to properly use makeup if you don’t know how to care for your skin?

A lot of people have issues with their skin, which is totally normal. I have problems all the time! The key is finding what works for you and you alone! While I make recommendations to you all the time, it’s always based on my personal experience. Just because a product works for me doesn’t mean it will work the same way for you, which is why I encourage trial and error. It’s important to create a skin care regiment that works with your skin and not against it. Don’t force some fancy kit on your face just because it worked for someone else!

That being said, in this video I’m going through some very basic tips and suggestions for caring for your skin. I’m talking everything from cleansers to sunscreen, why you need ‘em and how to use ‘em. (And I shouldn’t have to tell you how important sunscreen is, ladies!) If you have any questions, leave ‘em in the comments!

Got something you want me to cover? Post it in the comments below. And don’t forget to follow us on YouTube and check out my other videos right here!

CC Beauty Live: Winter Woes

A few weeks ago, I gave you all some winter tips to keep your skin and hair in check as the weather started getting chilly. Well, now I’ve got some more! There are some of the same (like moisturize A LOT! And use Aquaphor!), but how else will I drill it into your head? This stuff’s important, yo.

If you live at the beach and are not suffering from any winter issues, then I hope you know how jealous I am of you. But you’re jealous of my winter hat because it’s so freakin’ cute, so I guess we’re even.  And just because you’ll be really tan when I get back from winter break doesn’t mean I won’t be, too. That’s what Jergen’s Gradual Tanning Lotion is for, duh.

If you are having winter issues, then I hope I’m some help to you! And if you have other problems that aren’t mentioned, ask away in the comments, and I’ll try my best to help you out!

CC Beauty Live: Winter Tips

Unless you’re dealing with the Southern weather that doesn’t really want to get cold until January, you’re probably freezing your beauty loving tush off right now! While it’s getting chilly down here in the Dirty South (like 65, maybe) it’s not as cold as the rest of the country, but I’m still already noticing that typical winter dryness. Winter can be harsh on your skin, hair, and lips. And even though I’m not chillin’ (ha!) in zero degree weather, I still experience what I like to call Winter Dryness Syndrome.

WDS can be a blessing for us folks with oily skin, but it can still dry you out too much. And if you have dry skin already, you’ll probably start flaking. But that’s nothing compared to those delicate lips. WDS wreaks havoc on your kisser and unless you know what to do, your lips will get chapped and no one will want to kiss you under that conveniently placed mistletoe over your front door.

But don’t worry; I’ve got you covered with some winter tips to keep you glowing this season!

Vaseline: A College Girl’s Best Friend

Everyone raise your glasses for I would like to make a toast!

Today marks the 140th birthday of our good and loyal friend, Vaseline.  Here is to all of those good times we’ve had when we’ve needed you most. I keep you by my bed, in my bag, and in the car. I pick you up, dip my finger in your gooey residue and primp and prime to my utmost pleasure. You’re cheap, you’re handy, and you’re my BFF.

Cheers.

Seriously, after finding out it was Vaseline’s 140th birthday today, I went to find my own container and rubbed that shiz all over my elbows in celebration. This stuff is the best and, like any cheap vodka, it’s a college girl’s BFF.

Why, you ask?  Let us list the ways.

1. It makes your eyelashes grow: As long as you aren’t shacking up with the cutie you’ve been studying with, lather Vaseline all over your purty eyelashes overnight and watch them thicken and grow like a Chia pet come morning!

2. To Soften your weines [pronounced: wee*niss]: Vaseline is a great pick-me-up for dry elbows.

3. To Pimp out your cuticles: Store a mini-Vaseline container in your purse and utilize for emergency dry cuticle moments. And if you just really want an excuse to not take notes in lecture.

CC Beauty Live: Roses Are Red, Tin Cans Are Blue

I have a lot (and I mean a LOT) of stuff in my makeup arsenal. But as many shadows and brushes and primers as I’ve got, there are some that I can’t live without. Gems sent from the heavens to save the day and keep me lookin’ my best. One of those little gems is Rosebud Perfume Co.’s Rosebud Salve, which you’ve probably seen in those little boxes next to the checkout at Sephora or Ulta.

This stuff is so amazing and has multiple uses, which is amazing considering its only $6.  Sadly, some people are unaware of the many ways you can use this tin can of joy, so watch this video to change your life.

CC Beauty Live: Kiss This

I know it’s cold and dry where most of you are living, and your lips and skin are probably suffering just like mine. Well, I have something that can save your lips from the arctic tundra outside your door and make them just as kissable as they were when it was nice and toasty out! Move over, Aquaphor; there’s a new balm in town.

I’m sure you’ve seen this stuff on the store shelves and wondered if it was worth the money. Trust me – it is. And with the wide variety of these babies, you’ll definitely find one that will be the perfect addition to your beauty regimen this winter.
