Here Are The Most Popular Halloween Costumes By State So You Can Avoid Being Basic AF

In case you thought you had a super cute costume and were going to avoid running into someone in the same costume, odds are you’re probably wrong. Sorry to be so blunt, but now you can avoid this situation (or at least have a heads up) thanks to Influenster. The review-based recommendation website polled 40,000 Americans and discovered what the most popular Halloween costumes in each state are this year.

Harley Quinn is a popular choice for Alabamans and Tennesseans, but who can blame them considering Margot Robbie looks amazing in the Suicide Squad trailer? I’m assuming more states will be choosing this costume next year after its release over the summer. Only two states, Alaska and Idaho are still loving the zombie costume. The boring and unoriginal variation of the cat/catwoman costume will always be a last minute favorite (I’ll admit, I did Cat Woman one night last year), but this year Connecticut, Iowa, Michigan, and Wyoming will be seeing it the most. Disney princesses are still incredibly popular (and will probably always be). Jersey girls are loving the flapper costumes this year, which I found surprising, but I will definitely be looking out for them.
