Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light — and many Muggles are finding that light this week in Starbucks’ not-so-secret Harry Potter menu items.
While the chain’s Butterbeer Latte and Butterbeer Frappuccino have not made the official menu, it’s still possible to nestle into a booth with a hot buttery beverage only Madam Rosmerta could conjure up (well, and Starbucks).
According to Buzzfeed, Starbucks recommends ordering a latte with whole milk, a pump of caramel syrup, toffee nut syrup, cinnamon dulce syrup, whipped cream and salted caramel bits to get the magical Butterbeer Latte.
As for the Butterbeer Frappuccino, order a Crème Frappuccino with pumps of toffee nut and caramel syrup with caramel drizzle. (It won’t be the strangest item someone has asked for that day — not even close).
Harry Potter fans are flocking to the chain this week with the enthusiasm usually spent on Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, and seem to be relishing in the beverages.
The rest of Hogsmeade’s delights may still elude us (Pygmy Puffs. Honeydukes. Harry skulking around in his invisibility cloak) but in one way at least, those whose 11th birthdays passed without event can connect to the wizarding world.
