These Plus-Size Models Perfectly Recreated The Kardashians’ Calvin Klein Ad

Curvy models are rightfully receiving more and more representation. Gone are the days when mannequins and models in ads and campaigns are of the same body shape, ethnicity and skin tone. Major companies have been taking notice of this as they’ve been using a variety of models to promote diversity as well as their products. Hayley Hasselhoff even took to the streets with other plus-size models in a protest during London Fashion Week.

Sometimes, it takes the efforts of models to make a campaign of their own, without the backing of a brand, to make their voices heard. Remember the Kardashian’s Calvin Klein ad? The one where Kylie was very clearly covering her baby bump? Well, these plus-size models just recreated it and the photo needs to be a billboard.

The recreation features Tammy Bove, Diana Sirokai, Daisy Christina and Denise Mercedes. Similar to the original ad, the models laid down on a blanket sporting Calvin Klein’s signature modern cotton bralettes and bottoms. Despite the photos being put side by side, the intention wasn’t for a comparison. Both photos are beautiful in their own way.

The Calvin intimates don’t make them look good, the girls themselves make the Calvin intimates look good.

It’s clear that all of them own their curves, with Daisy Christina commenting on her health journey last summer. In an Instagram post about her body, she wrote, “Over the years I gained 42lbs/ 19kg puts me at 238lbs/108kg which I did not like. I knew that I still looked beautiful and sexy but I didn’t feel well with myself… Now I lost 22lbs/10kg. Feeling much better. I still have 20lbs/9kg to go to bring me back to my old weight that I’m happy with. Don’t worry I’m still keeping my curves which I’m very Proud of! Curves in a healthier way!”

As for Diana Sirokai, this isn’t her first time recreating a famous ad. Last December, she posted a photo of her recreating Gigi Hadid’s nude campaign for Stuart Weitzman as well as a pic of Kim Kardashian in a bodysuit.

In an interview with Mic, Diana spoke of what she hopes to come next, “I hope these recreations will change the fashion world and [that] brands like Calvin Klein will use different type of models for their campaigns.”

Calvin, when will these ladies be in an official ad?
