Royal Wedding: Start Time, Procession Map & Route

The world will be watching as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot in the highly anticipated royal wedding ceremony, but where will they go? The celebration will only just begin after the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, as the newly married pair embarks on a public tour. We’re taking a look at the route that the royal couple will be taking so you can follow them every step of the way in their journey.


Royal Wedding Time:

Guests will begin to arrive for the royal wedding between 4:30 A.M. EST / 9:30 A.M. GMT and 6:30 A.M. EST / 11:30 A.M., while members of the royal family will arrive starting 6:20 A.M EST / 11:20 A.M. The wedding ceremony itself will begin at 8:00 A.M. EST / 12:00 P.M. at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor and will last about an hour.


Royal Wedding Map:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markel will take a carriage ride immediately after the service at 1:00 P.M. to greet well-wishers who are expected to arrive from all over the globe. They will be driven along Castle Hill, the High Street and into the Windsor town center before returning along the scenic “Long Walk” for their reception. The procession is expected to last around 25 minutes.


Royal Wedding Route:

To see the newlyweds up close, its recommended to camp out along the 2.64-mile stretch spanning from Snow Hill to the gates of Windsor Castle, known as the “Long Walk.”

The length of this section will allow thousands of fans to catch of glimpse of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, during the final minutes of their procession. There will also be events at the “Long Walk” during the day, with screens showing live coverage of the wedding ceremony.
