So some unhealthy habits are a bit obvious (go to bed earlier, snack less etc.). But what about those habits you might not even think of or the subsets of some bad habits? We have curated a list of five unhealthy habits you may have never even thought of.


1. Not Making Sleep Your Priority

Sleep is SUPER important. Without an ample amount of sleep, it is impossible for you to have a good day. But also sleeping in on the weekends won’t help you either. Make sleep your priority–and regular sleep at that.


2. You’re Snacking (Unhealthily)

An unhealthy snack here and there is good for you (treat yourself!) but make sure you aren’t doing this every day once you feel hungry. Moderation is key here! Enjoy a healthy snack instead.


3. Pay Attention To Those ‘Healthy’ Drinks

There are many drinks out there that label themselves as healthy but are actually filled with tons of sugar. A little bit of sugar in your drinks isn’t the end of the world (in moderation) but excessive daily amounts are unhealthy. Pay attention to the nutrition labels on these healthy drinks (think Gatorade, Vitamin Water, and juices) and cut out the ones that have too much sugar.


4. Skipping Your Workouts

Whether you are going through a hangover (we know it’s tough) or you’re just tired, try not to skip your workouts. It is not the end of the world if you have to take a rest day, but by working out through your hangover you’ll make your body stronger and healthier. Better yet, working out through a hangover can even help that hangover go away (think of the good brain chemicals).


5. Don’t Jump On Those Superfood Trends

Some of these “superfoods” include coconut oil and agave. Although it is always exciting to jump on the bandwagon of a new food or ingredient, make sure to do your research. Although these ingredients may look and seem healthy they may not actually be. Do your research and decide on what is best for you, but don’t let the headlines decide. Just jumping into trends can cause havoc on your body.
